TDA events
The TDA events team continue to be as busy as ever organising and attending both public and undergraduate events across the country
This autumn the team have been busy hosting several Train to Teach events across the country. Our pilot event in Southampton proved to be a big success, this was followed by larger events in Bristol and York. Our Train to Teach events are the perfect opportunity for any one interested in a career in teaching to get tailored guidance on the routes into teaching, meet local teacher training providers and talk with experienced teachers. Preparation now begins for the three Flagship events that take place in the New Year.
The undergraduate activity also remains a key priority with the team attending university events across the country. The autumn term is the busiest period for our on-campus activity; this autumn our consultants have visited 23 of the top UK universities to reach penultimate and final year students who are interested in a career in teaching.
We also continue to target career changers in response to the current economic climate and redundancies through our City Seminars held in London.
Our interactive activity continues with 'live' Q&A events taking place every fortnight. For more information visit: www.teach.gov.uk/onlineevents. Sessions range from subject specific forums to more generic topics such as 'Making a successful ITT application' and 'Routes into teaching'.
As the team continue to concentrate their resources on speaking to people who are eligible to commence teacher training over the coming year, they are unable to visit schools on a one to one basis. However, they are happy to forward presentations and literature to any school that requests it.
Details of the event programme can be found at teach.gov.uk where you can search by region.
